I don't even know where this thought came from...
Would it be animal cruelty to go out and paintball deer? Surely not worse than hunting them? EDIT for my own “serious” answer: In real life I think it would totally be cruel - I’ve seen paintball welts! But the idea of some deer hunter spotting a blue polka-dot deer in the woods… heh heh heh X)
